Much is said about finding inner peace and yet it is an elusive state
for so many of us. It might be hard to find because we attach our certainties of what it is
or is not to be peacefully within oneself. As the world turns around us with all its activities,
restless motion and ever challenging conditions, we tend to get caught up in thinking, judging, and
wanting to change things. Thus the whirlwind of thoughts overtakes our inner awareness of space inside of us, the peace that is in us regardless of what we engage our minds and bodies in. It is fundamentally our nature to be at peace. Inner peace is like the sun, always there even when we cannot see it because of cloud cover, or the darkness of the night. It appears that the stillness of peace is deeply embedded in our mind and body.
Inescapably there, beyond the thoughts, the actions, the doings. Breathing deeply, taking a few seconds to connect the mind and body through the breath can help us reconnect to the stillness and peace we crave so deeply.
